VANCOUVER, Wash. - Law enforcement agencies, school districts and community partners from across Southwest Washington gathered in Vancouver on Tuesday morning to announce a new school safety campaign focused on how people respond to online threats, KATU reported.
The campaign, called "Report, Don't Repost: Choose Care Over Clicks," encourages people to report online threats to investigators rather than repost or share them on social media.
According to KATU, the Clark County Sheriff's Office was among the groups announcing the launch of the campaign on Oct. 20, holding a press conference to introduce the effort.
Representatives from law enforcement, emergency services, school districts and students joined deputies to discuss the campaign and answer questions, per the report.
The initiative brings together local law enforcement, school districts and community organizations with the shared goal of promoting school safety and encouraging responsible reporting of concerning online content across the region.
