VANCOUVER, Wash. A driver accused of hitting two pedestrians in a Vancouver crosswalk and then fleeing has been arrested on felony hit-and-run and vehicular assault charges, KATU reported, citing police officials.

The crash was reported Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Northeast Stapleton Road and 18th Street. One of the two pedestrians struck suffered serious injuries, according to KATU, which said there was no word on their current conditions.

A witness showed police the suspect's vehicle, which had been abandoned nearby, KATU reported. Investigators said they used surveillance video to identify the suspect as Jerad Raptopoulos, who police say ran off after leaving his vehicle near the crash scene.

Detectives later found Raptopoulos getting into a different car, and said he had changed his clothing after the crash, according to the report.

Raptopoulos was booked into the Clark County Jail on two counts of felony hit-and-run with injury and a single count of vehicular assault, along with a referred charge of knowingly possessing a controlled substance, KATU reported.
