Everett A float plane executed an emergency touchdown on Lake Ki on Wednesday, with no injuries reported among those aboard or nearby.
Responding units arrived after the aircraft, operating out of Arlington Municipal Airport, was compelled to land on the 100-acre lake situated just north of the Tulalip Reservation, officials said.
The pilot emerged unharmed following the landing, and assistance came from a local resident who happened to be on the water in a vessel and helped guide the plane to a nearby shoreline.
Investigations are ongoing to pinpoint what triggered the unscheduled landing, though initial accounts indicate the aircraft had recently departed from its home base in Arlington.
Personnel from the Marysville Fire District and Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office coordinated the recovery operation and addressed a modest fuel release observed at the scene, preventing any significant environmental impact.
