A 61-year-old resident of Marysville, formerly employed as a nurse in Snohomish County, has been indicted on four felony counts of indecent liberties by a healthcare provider. Prosecutors filed the charges on Wednesday based on allegations that the man sexually assaulted at least three female patients at EvergreenHealth Monroe between 2024 and 2025.

Monroe Police Department detectives launched their inquiry in January 2025 after hospital staff reported a disclosure of sexual assault by a 61-year-old woman who was recovering from surgery under the nurse’s care. According to probable cause documents, the nurse allegedly discouraged the patient from using an external catheter and instead personally cleaned her after she used the restroom. The police report notes that after applying lotion to the patient, the nurse whispered that she might take care of him one day and then kissed her on the lips while wearing a face mask. The patient also stated that he grabbed her breasts and rubbed her genitals before she notified hospital personnel.

During their investigation, detectives reviewed two prior complaints against the same nurse. In one instance, a 47-year-old woman claimed the nurse frequently hugged her and held her hand. She alleged that he insisted on performing an unexplained head-to-toe examination and attempted to remove her bra despite her repeated refusals. A second complaint, filed by a 49-year-old woman, stated that the nurse tried to have her undress for a full-body exam without clinical justification. She reported that he then touched her breasts and genitals in a sexual manner, leading her to tell police she believed he intended to rape her.

Court records indicate that the nurse was suspended from his position at EvergreenHealth Monroe in January 2025 following the initial allegations. He reportedly resigned from the hospital while an internal review was still in progress.

In an email statement sent on Thursday, a spokesperson for EvergreenHealth Monroe emphasized the importance of patient safety and community trust. The spokesperson confirmed that the individual is no longer employed by the facility and noted that the hospital would not provide further details at this time.

As of Thursday, online court records show that the suspect had not yet been scheduled for an initial arraignment and was not booked into the Snohomish County Jail. The man has no prior criminal record, according to the filed documents.
