Law enforcement officers conducted a notable operation Monday as part of the continuing probe into the February slaying of Danny Kendrick, a 73-year-old resident of Clallam County.
On May 11, investigators from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, supported by the Peninsula Crisis Response Team and the Port Angeles Police Department, carried out a high-risk search at a home in the 1300 block of West 9th Street in Port Angeles.
Officials with the sheriff’s office stated the warrant was issued to gather physical and digital materials connected to Kendrick’s fatal shooting.
After establishing control of the premises, detectives combed the residence and surrounding grounds, retrieving items they believe will help clarify key aspects of the case.
Despite the search’s success, no detentions have been issued yet, and authorities stressed the investigation remains open and evolving.
This latest development comes after an extended review period that began when Kendrick’s death was first flagged as unexplained.
Deputies arrived at a residence in the 6300 block of Deer Park Road on February 21 around 7:22 a.m., where they discovered Kendrick’s body.
Subsequent forensic analysis determined the cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds, prompting officials to formally designate the incident as a homicide.
During the early phase, detectives collaborated with the Washington State Patrol’s Crime Scene Response Team to document and collect minute physical traces from the scene.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office is actively soliciting community input to help close gaps in the case.
Individuals with relevant details—whether connected to the victim, the location, or the recently gathered materials—are urged to reach out.
