Kaiser Permanente has confirmed plans to launch a new urgent care center in Everett in 2027, as part of its ongoing regional investment strategy.
The upcoming facility, spanning nearly 12,000 square feet, will be integrated into the existing Everett Medical Center at 2929 Pine Street. That campus underwent a major $270 million expansion in June 2025, itself part of a broader $1 billion initiative to modernize Kaiser’s infrastructure across Washington. That prior project nearly tripled the medical center’s physical footprint and included forward-looking design elements to support future services, including urgent care.
According to Linnae Riesen, a Kaiser spokesperson, most of the urgent care’s projected expenses were already accounted for within the 2025 expansion budget. She noted that infrastructure and space were intentionally预留 to ensure seamless addition of urgent care operations down the line.
The new center is scheduled to include 20 dedicated exam rooms and operate with extended daily hours to better serve patient needs. Cynthia Dold, regional president for Kaiser Permanente Washington, emphasized the importance of expanding urgent care access amid Everett’s rapid demographic shift. “Everett has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, and we’ve heard clearly from our members and the community that greater access to urgent care close to home is needed,” she said.
At present, the nearest Kaiser urgent care location to Everett is the Capitol Hill Medical Center in Seattle. State estimates indicate Everett added roughly 4,300 residents since 2020, and city planning documents project an additional 65,000 people by 2044. Riesen stated that this new facility will strengthen local access, streamline continuity of care for enrolled patients, and reinforce Kaiser’s integrated care model within Snohomish County.
In tandem with urgent care expansion, Kaiser is also broadening primary care availability in Everett. By late September of 2026, the system expects to have onboarded five new primary care physicians, according to Riesen.
While a precise opening date for the urgent care center remains subject to final planning, Riesen noted that staffing projections, including anticipated job creation, will become more defined as construction and operations planning advance toward the 2027 launch.
