Charges Filed in Regional Carjacking Series

A man wanted in a King County homicide case has been charged with multiple felonies in Snohomish County, where authorities allege he participated in a string of armed vehicle thefts during 2023.

Prosecutors assert that Alhusaine Drammeh, 21, and an accomplice used weapons to take vehicles from three individuals in Lynnwood and Lake Stevens. These incidents reportedly occurred shortly before the suspects allegedly shot and killed a man during a similar robbery attempt in Federal Way.

The investigation commenced in October 2023 after a victim reported his BMW had been taken from a CVS parking lot on Highway 99 in Lynnwood. Court documents indicate that surveillance footage captured two suspects approaching the man as he entered his vehicle before taking the car, his mobile phone, and hundreds of dollars.

Nine days later, Lynnwood authorities responded to a comparable robbery in a JCPenney parking lot. A man reported that an individual brandished a handgun while he was seated in the driver's seat of his Toyota sports car, demanding his watch and keys. Investigators noted that footage from Alderwood Mall showed the suspects arriving in a BMW matching the description of the vehicle stolen earlier.

The BMW was recovered by police in Kent the following day, and detectives located the license plate from the stolen Toyota within the vehicle.

One day later, Lake Stevens police were dispatched to an armed robbery outside a Haggen grocery store. A man told officers he was attempting to sell his son's Jeep on Facebook when two masked individuals pointed firearms at him and took the vehicle. Surveillance imagery showed the suspects arriving in the Toyota previously reported stolen in Lynnwood.

On October 26, 2023, Lake Stevens police determined that the stolen Jeep had been involved in a homicide the night before in Federal Way. Records from the King County investigation allege Drammeh and another individual followed the driver of a maroon Dodge Charger for more than a mile until the victim pulled into an auto parts store.

Charging documents state that as the man worked on his car outside the business, the suspects approached him and an exchange of gunfire followed. The suspects then fled the area in the Jeep. Robert Blowe III, 26, succumbed to gunshot wounds to the chest.

Drammeh, who was 18 at the time, was identified as a suspect and apprehended in Kent. Authorities reportedly discovered four handguns inside his residence. Court documents indicate he told King County investigators they planned to carjack the victim because they wanted the vehicle. He also allegedly admitted to stealing the Jeep in Lake Stevens days prior.

The Snohomish County Prosecutors Office charged Drammeh on Tuesday with three counts of first-degree robbery involving a deadly weapon and three counts of motor vehicle theft.

A second individual was formally accused of first-degree murder in connection to a fatal shooting incident within King County, according to official court filings. The co-defendant, who is also identified as Drammeh in the records, entered a guilty plea to nine counts in the previous year and was subsequently sentenced to serve three decades in prison.

Current court records indicate that this particular defendant has not yet faced charges related to a series of robberies in Snohomish County. Investigators suspect the pair also executed a violent break-in at a residence, during which they allegedly restrained the occupants, including a young boy aged five, with firearms while searching the property for valuables.

Drammeh is currently being held at the King County Jail following his decision to plead not guilty to the murder accusations. Superior Court online records indicate that his trial is set to begin in the latter part of this month.

To ensure continuity of legal proceedings, Snohomish County Superior Court Judge Cindy Larsen has authorized an arrest warrant for Drammeh, which would become active if he is ever released from his current detention in King County.
