Washington Health Department Charges Nutritionist with Unprofessional Conduct
The Washington State Department of Health has officially filed charges against nutritionist Erin Saena Yaseen, citing unprofessional conduct tied to suspected insurance fraud and her apparent lack of responsiveness during a state investigation.
The department opened its review after receiving a formal complaint in February 2025 that accused Yaseen of submitting misleading insurance claims. Her professional license, which she has held continuously since August 21, 2008, remains active throughout the proceedings.
Nonresponse to Investigation
A Statement of Charges, issued on November 5, 2025, details the department’s efforts to gather information from Yaseen. On July 17, 2025, state officials sent her a letter requesting documentation and explanations related to the fraud allegations, setting August 7, 2025, as the response deadline.
According to state records, no reply was received from Yaseen by the deadline or in the months that followed. This silence forms the basis for the unprofessional conduct charge, which falls under RCW 18.130.180(8)(b). That provision defines such conduct as occurring when a licensed practitioner does not provide a comprehensive written account of the circumstances surrounding a complaint to the disciplining authority.
Possible Outcomes and Next Steps
The charging document notes that Yaseen may face disciplinary action if she does not formally respond to the allegations or participate in subsequent proceedings. The state’s Nutritionist Program added that even if she submits the outstanding information, officials will assess whether additional infractions exist or if further corrective measures—such as fines, supervision, or continuing education—are appropriate.
