MARYSVILLE, Wash. Drivers who use 88th Street near State Avenue will need to find another way around this weekend, as Burlington Northern Santa Fe closes the railroad crossing there for pavement repairs, HeraldNet.com reported.

Marysville spokesperson Lauren Chomiak confirmed the plans in an email Tuesday, according to the Herald. The closure is set to begin at 9 a.m. Friday, though the street is expected to reopen by noon that same day.

The longer shutdown begins around 7 a.m. Saturday and is expected to last until roughly 6 p.m. Monday while crews improve the pavement at the crossing, Chomiak wrote.

Chomiak urged motorists to plan ahead, use alternate routes, allow extra travel time and be patient while the work is underway. She added that the reopening time is approximate and could shift depending on construction conditions.

The busy arterial that runs alongside the railroad line will remain open throughout the closure, the city said. Drivers who regularly cross the tracks at 88th Street should expect to adjust their routes through the weekend and into the start of the work week.
