School Board Correspondence Records Made Searchable
The Port Angeles School District has finished turning over a batch of documents requested last week. The material includes emails detailing interactions between school board member Nancy Hamilton, district administrators, and other members of the board.
A new digital tool has been created to facilitate the review of these communications. The interface mimics a standard email inbox, allowing users to browse and search the files.
Users can select mailbox views for Superintendent Michelle Olsen, executive assistant Casey McDonald, or any of the five school board directors. The tool allows readers to access inbox or sent folders, search for specific subjects, filter by date range, and read the content of the messages. Where attachments are available, they can be opened directly from the email, and individual messages can be shared via a link.
The archive includes 388 email entries along with 11 PDF files produced separately. It also contains a letter dated June 11 from Hamilton defending her requests for information, which was provided with a separate email.
The purpose of the tool is to allow the public to review the correspondence directly. Readers can examine Hamilton's inquiries, the responses from district officials, and the related discussions contained within the released records.
The mailbox views are constructed from the provided documents and do not represent full email accounts. Some attachments are not available.
