The Real Olympic Herald’s sports desk has compiled the Week 6 selections for high school football from three local experts. Aaron Coe, the regional outlet’s sports editor, projected victories for Mercer Island, Archbishop Murphy, Lake Stevens, Stanwood, Shorewood, Everett, Meadowdale, Monroe, Mariner, Mountlake Terrace, Sultan, Burlington-Edison, Eisenhower, Friday Harbor, Kings, Darrington, and Tulalip Heritage in their respective matchups. Coe went undefeated in the previous week, bringing his cumulative season record to 79-16.
Tom Lafferty, a voice on KRKO Radio, agreed with Coe on most selections but diverged on two games. Lafferty picked Jackson to defeat Mariner and Granite Falls to beat Friday Harbor, while choosing the same winners as Coe for the other 15 contests. Lafferty also finished the prior week with a perfect 18-0 record, extending his season totals to 76-19.
Steve Willits, a co-host of Prep Sports Weekly, offered a slightly different slate. Willits selected Snohomish to upset Stanwood, aligning otherwise with the consensus picks for the remaining games, including wins for Mercer Island, Archbishop Murphy, Lake Stevens, Shorewood, Everett, Meadowdale, Monroe, Mariner, Mountlake Terrace, Sultan, Burlington-Edison, Eisenhower, Kings, Darrington, and Tulalip Heritage. Willits finished last week 16-2, improving his season record to 72-23.
