Benton County Man Booked on Protection Order Charges
A 32-year-old local resident was taken into custody by Benton County Sheriff’s deputies early yesterday morning and processed at the Benton County Corrections Department.
Jail records indicate the booking took place at 4:59 a.m. The individual faces two counts of violating a protection order in connection with alleged incidents that occurred earlier that same morning. Bail has been set at $1,000.
Legal History
The recent apprehension is the latest in a series of legal issues for the man, who already faces active charges in neighboring Franklin County for failing to comply with court orders. A jury trial for that Franklin County matter is slated for June 22, 2026.
Records from the Benton County jail show a pattern of arrests over the past year. During the summer of 2025, he was booked multiple times on allegations involving third-degree malicious mischief and outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions.
Court documents also detail a history of felony convictions. In August 2023, the man entered guilty pleas to felony charges in Benton County. For one of those cases, he was sentenced to 13 months with the Washington State Department of Corrections, while a separate 2021 case resulted in a 9-month sentence in the county jail.
A conviction in Franklin County from January 2020 resulted in a 30-day jail term. As part of that sentencing, a judge ordered the individual to surrender a concealed pistol license and prohibited him from owning or possessing firearms.
Details of the Incident
According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the 200000 block of E 194 PR following a report of a firearm being discharged near occupied structures.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies determined that the man was the subject of an active no-contact order that bans firearm possession. Authorities further noted that he has prior felony convictions for theft of a motor vehicle and residential burglary.
The Sheriff’s Office stated that "deputies deployed a drone to assist in the search of the suspect," which led to his capture.
