Everett, Wash. Seattle Boat Company announced Oct. 5 that it has acquired Bayside Marine, a boat dealership and service facility located in Everett.
The transaction is intended to broaden the company's footprint throughout the North Puget Sound region and strengthen its network of marine businesses operating across the Pacific Northwest.
Elizabeth Bohling, co-president of Seattle Boat Company, stated that Bayside Marine has established a notable presence in the Everett area. Bohling noted that the facility's staff possesses extensive experience regarding the needs of boaters in the North Puget Sound, covering activities such as fishing, saltwater cruising, and the maintenance required to keep vessels operational. She added that this specific expertise complements the existing operations of Seattle Boat Company.
The Seattle-based organization currently operates boating businesses across Washington and in North Idaho, in addition to its network of locations statewide.
The acquisition will expand the range of services available to the local boating community. Bayside Marine's specific knowledge regarding outboard-powered vessels, fishing, and saltwater boating will be integrated into Seattle Boat Company's current offerings, which include the sale of new and pre-owned boats, inboard boats, watersports equipment, service, and storage.
Bayside Marine is an authorized dealer for Yamaha, Mercury Marine, EZ Loader, and Tuff Trailer, and offers both new and pre-owned boats. Seattle Boat Company represents Cobalt, Malibu, and Pursuit in Western Washington.
Regarding the Everett location, officials stated the acquisition will introduce new boat models, specifically Pursuit and Cobalt Coastal outboard models, to the city. Additionally, customers will gain access to the company's resources, including expanded indoor storage, a broader selection of new boats, and increased technical and administrative support. The facility will also provide certified technicians for inboard and surf boats.
Bayside Marine declined to comment on Wednesday, though representatives noted that the previous co-owners invested significant care into the business over a period of 40 years.
According to company information, Bayside Marine has been family-owned since the late 1960s. Officials confirmed that the Everett boat retailer will retain its local team and identity despite joining the Seattle Boat Company network.
