Shooting Investigation Onboard Marysville Bus

Deputies are looking into a firearm discharge that took place on a Community Transit bus in Marysville on Tuesday evening.

Authorities from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office reported receiving calls regarding an assault aboard a public transit vehicle near the intersection of State Avenue and Grove Street at approximately 8 p.m.

Investigators stated that an argument involving two or three men began on the bus. During this dispute, a weapon was discharged, though the sheriff's office confirmed that no individuals were struck by the projectile.

Following the altercation, the participants exited the vehicle and fled on foot. A spokesperson for the Marysville Police Department confirmed that a drone and K9 unit were deployed to assist in locating those involved.

Marysville police detained two individuals and booked them into custody on warrants unrelated to the incident on the bus.

The sheriff's office is currently determining the specific roles of all parties to prepare charges related to the fight and shooting. Investigators are also working to verify if a third person participated in the event.

One bystander sustained a hand injury during the struggle on the bus. Although not directly involved in the dispute, the individual was transported to a medical facility for precautionary evaluation.

A representative for Community Transit stated that no agency employees were injured during the event.

"The safety of the public and Community Transit employees is our top priority," said spokesperson Monica Spain in an email sent Wednesday morning. "We work closely with law enforcement on responses to incidents such as this."

The sheriff's office confirmed that the investigation is active and ongoing.
