Authorities are continuing to probe a shooting incident at a Monroe residential complex that prompted a significant law enforcement presence on Thursday evening.

Monroe Police Department records indicate that units arrived at the 18000 block of Blueberry Lane shortly before 5 p.m. following a report from a delivery worker. The driver stated that he was fired upon through the entryway of a unit while attempting to leave a package. According to the department’s statement, no individuals were injured in the exchange of gunfire.

Officers established a perimeter around the specific apartment and requested support from the North Sound Metro SWAT team to attempt contact with the individual suspected of firing the shots. Subsequent analysis of security camera footage revealed that a potential suspect had exited the residence via a rear exit prior to the arrival of the initial police response.

Following a search of the interior, law enforcement confirmed the apartment was empty. A department spokesperson noted that the SWAT team maintained its position until approximately 11 p.m., at which point the case was transferred to detectives. Investigative personnel remained at the location past midnight.

No individuals have been taken into custody as of this report, though officials emphasize that the case remains active. Residents and witnesses with relevant details are encouraged to contact the police tip line at 360-863-4600.
