SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. Authorities are asking for the public's help amid reports of police impersonators on Skagit County highways, according to My Bellingham Now.

The Washington State Patrol sent out a news release Tuesday, Oct. 20, requesting any information on impersonators in the Skagit Valley area. The agency said it is specifically seeking sightings of a Ford Crown Victoria equipped with push bars that is impersonating police.

According to WSP Trooper Kelsey Harding, eight 911 calls about police impersonators have come in from Skagit County since Jan. 1, 2026. She said the release was not issued in response to any specific incident.

Harding added that it is difficult to say how many of the reported impersonators were actual offenders, since the descriptions could easily have referred to unmarked police cars.

Anyone who believes they have seen a police impersonator on state highways is asked to contact Trooper Ryan Thomas at [email protected].
