EVERETT, Wash. - Residents of a duplex condo near Everett say it is a miracle no one was killed after an out-of-control truck plowed through fences and into their homes on Oct. 2, FOX 13 Seattle reports.

The crash happened near Southwest 1st Avenue and 112th Street Southwest. The truck appeared to leave busy 112th Street, drive through a neighbor's driveway, take out a chain-link fence, cross 1st Avenue, bust through a wooden fence and slam into the duplex.

Homeowner Ruxana Khan was at work when the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office and her brother called her with the news. She told FOX 13 the truck tore through her fence and landscaping before crashing through her garage, only stopping after it broke through the opposite wall and smashed into her neighbor's car on the other side of the duplex garage.

The sheriff's office said South County deputies responded and that the driver, a man in his 80s, temporarily became unresponsive, causing him to lose control. Both the driver and a dog traveling with him survived the crash and were safely transported home.

Khan said the truck destroyed new shelving in the garage and family heirlooms tied to her late mother. In 17 years in the home, she said, nothing like this had ever happened.

"It could have been worse, it could have gone into my living room and then what," Khan said, per FOX 13. "God forbid if I was inside and then what?"

Khan said she does have insurance, though the claims process has been slow as she faces an overwhelming amount of repairs.
