EVERETT, Wash. - The Washington State Cougars will take on the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m., FOX 13 Seattle reports.
The matchup will be the first Division I men's basketball game ever held at the Everett arena.
"We're excited to bring Division I college basketball to Everett and give local fans the chance to experience it right here in their own community," Corey Margolis, Oak View Group's general manager at Angel of the Winds Arena, said in a statement, per FOX 13. "Events like this are what make our arena special, bringing our community together through shared experiences."
The game had originally been scheduled to be played in Palm Desert, Calif., on the same day. Washington State is set to face Duke in the Acrisure Series in Palm Springs on Nov. 21, and the Hawaii game would have given the Cougars a two-game swing through the Coachella Valley.
Instead, the contest with Hawaii will now be played in Snohomish County, giving local basketball fans a rare chance to see the Cougars take the floor close to home, according to Washington State University and FOX 13 Seattle reporting.
