When a reader in the Reddit community r/PortAngeles2 began digging into the Olympic Herald in February 2026, the first stop was not the site's articles. It was its author's business registrations.

"The journalist owns several LLCs for the purposes of monetizing content and shielding himself from personal liability for the publishing of libel," the poster wrote, linking a profile for Anthony Tomashefsky on bizapedia.com, a business-data aggregator.

Another commenter was blunter: "Dude owns a lot of businesses."

The public record supports the broad strokes, and the specifics are worth laying out, because the Olympic Herald solicits reader donations of up to $500 without naming which entity, if any, receives the money.

What the thread documented

The Reddit poster's characterization was an opinion, and readers can weigh it as such. But the thread also captured something concrete: after the thread gained traction, the original poster wrote that "the principal has joined us here in the thread, and is actively attempting to purge content outlining his LLC collection," linking a screenshot of a business-profile edit. The poster's assessment: "a person can use shell corporations in an attempt to mask illicit activities, but it's hard to make them disappear entirely."

The documented entities

Advice Chaser LLC. The best-documented Tomashefsky company. The Better Business Bureau profile lists Advice Chaser LLC of Sequim, WA, financial planning consultants, with a business start date of October 19, 2020. A Locateplus background report lists Tomashefsky as the company's contact at a Sequim address. The company's BBB-listed management is "Ms. Megan Coelho, Member". Tomashefsky's girlfriend, the ex-wife of the man a court later found he stalked.

The all-assets lien. On September 25, 2023, a UCC financing statement was filed with the Washington Secretary of State naming both Anthony Colin Tomashefsky and Advice Chaser LLC as debtors. The collateral pledged: "all tangible and intangible personal property of debtor," including accounts, deposit accounts, equipment, general intangibles, instruments, investment property, commercial tort claims, patents, trademarks, trade names, service marks, logos, and copyrights. Everything the man and the company owned, in other words, stood behind a financing arrangement.

The New York judgment. Also in September 2023, Revenued LLC sued both Advice Chaser LLC and Tomashefsky personally in Nassau County Supreme Court for breach of contract and breach of guarantee, according to the case docket. A default judgment motion was granted November 24, 2023, and a $42,128 civil judgment against both defendants was recorded February 13, 2024. The corporate form did not shield him; he was named personally, and the judgment entered by default.

"Off Ball Services." In the same Reddit thread, a commenter wrote: "He also worked at another financial company call Off Ball Services as a 'Manager' for 6 years. However, there's no paper trail or existing address. Anthony is young, he's 29 years old but when he was 'managing' the so called financial business he would of been 19."

The discrepancy is documented on both sides. Off Ball Services does exist, and per his public professional profile, its managing partner is Ben Mavy, the same man who obtained a one-year stalking and harassment protection order against Tomashefsky in August 2025. Mavy's profile also lists him as co-founder and vice president of Advice Chaser from January 2018 to September 2022, the other company on which Tomashefsky's own history overlaps. TROH found no corporate filing, address, or registration tying Tomashefsky to a managerial role at Off Ball Services; we publish the documented overlap and the absence of a paper trail, and nothing more.

Why the structure matters

Limited-liability companies are legal and common. They are also, as the Reddit poster noted, a way to separate a publisher from the personal consequences of what a publication prints. The Olympic Herald's donate page routes money through Stripe checkout links; it does not say which person or entity receives it. The site carries no ownership disclosure beyond a footer line: "Independently owned in Clallam County, Washington."

Independently owned by which LLC? The public record does not say. The man behind them all, however, is named in every article the site has ever published.

This article relies on public court records and public complaints. TROH welcomes a response from Mr. Tomashefsky and will publish it in full.
